How we created an overnight pitch deck to get DriEV into India’s startup festival, Techstars, and secured a spot among the top 30 startups for TechSparks Demo Day.
This milestone opened up countless investor meetings and funding opportunities that any startup could dream of.
We had our first meeting with DriEV founder Ankur on December 22.
During our initial conversation, we discovered that apart from having deep industry knowledge and a passion for tackling climate challenges, Ankur is a humble, dedicated, and visionary leader.
We were thrilled to amplify the revolutionary steps DriEV is taking in the energy space.
From promoting EV adoption to redefining sustainable commuting, this venture showcases a powerful vision for a greener future.
I began working on the DriEV pitch by following our usual 4-step process:
- Deep research
- An impactful storyline
- Solid data-driven content
- Impactful design (though we did not get time to design this deck)
We finalized the structure and story for DriEV just before Ankur encountered a family emergency, which paused the project for six months. Yet, we remained hopeful and ready to pick up where we left off.
One night, Ankur messaged us at around 11 PM, saying - "Hey, we got this email from YourStory Media. Do you know what this is about?"
Initially, we verified the legitimacy of the email and realized it was genuine - DriEV had been selected among the Top 30 Startups for YourStory Media's TechSparks Demo Day!
However, the challenge was real - we had only two days before internal pitch reviews began. Missing this opportunity would mean losing a once-in-a-lifetime chance to share the stage with other remarkable startups.

Presentations to be prepared

Process
How It Started and went
We handcrafted two presentations for the founders' convenience.
1. The schedule straight into the dustbin.
I was like, sure I will go through it and let you know by tomorrow evening for which he said but the event is 2 days later.
And I was Like what……………………………
I reached out to the laptop & went through the directives sent by the team and the biggest task is throughout the whole process, is team will go through continuous mockup sessions with your story media trainers.
If the story is not that good by the last session, they will take it off from the event, which means they will not be able to present on the stage.
So we were literally running on the treadmill while making the presentation.
We did end up creating the deck and sending it out on time, and it did make some history during the event.
The CTO Anirban did quite a stunning job at the event narrating the story along with the deck.
The deck stood out among all the startups and received personal praise from the YourStory media founder Shradha Sharma.
DriEV has received 3 term sheets since then.
